Borno is an old contrada perched above Lake Garda at 571 m above sea level.
It lies on the right side of the Sandalino Valley, along the ancient municipal road of the same name.
Today only a handful of people still inhabit these splendid old stone houses, dedicating themselves primarily to agriculture.
Its name seems to indicate Celtic origins. According to Marocchi, “bitter wines, scarce fruit, and little silk, wheat, and oil were produced here due to a rigid climate”.
